Now that you have familiarized yourself with both hatha and vinyasa yoga, having attended 72 yoga classes, you are ready for a more powerful flow, stronger challenges, and deeper points of awareness throughout the physical and mental body; this intermediate yoga class turns up the intensity of our asanas and flows. You will also be introduced to the energetic body, if you haven’t met it already, as well as more advanced yoga poses.
You will be encourage to go to new edges in your yoga, mentally, physically, energetically. Binds are introduced, as are deeper inversions and stronger balance poses. Powerful intermediate yoga sequences deepen core and build arm strength as shoulderstand variations are introduced in preparation for headstand. Back-bending sequence also advance and include less preparation before entering the poses.
Longer holds are also a trademark of our intermediate yoga class. Intermediate hatha yoga and vinyasa yoga flows can increase in intensity as yogis and yoginis extend their holds and allow their bodies to relish in the sensations of each intermediate yoga pose. Our pranayama techniques progress as well, tapping into subtle energy of the body and raising prana.
As always, we set our sankalpa to invoke uplifting thought, because nothing changes if we do not shift the mind first. We then move through the asanas like a dance, embracing our power and grace of intermediate vinyaysa yoga. The fluid, rhythmic movements take us out of our minds, into our bodies and breath.
Allow your creative nature to be set free as you move like liquid through the vinyasa. Each choreographed movement is embodied through consciously connecting to the breath, supercharging the body, absorbing the enlivened power of this exploration of yoga.
After we ring out all the tension in our muscles, detoxify our mind, and discover new flexibility, we unwind with a deep delicious yoga nidra. Here, we find sweet surrender in a mindfulness practice, melting into a tranquil, spacious meditation. We soak up the benefits of our energizing intermediate yoga practice, making time to rest and drink in the energizing flow. You will leave feeling empowered to continue your day in a positive mindset, with an awakened body, and a serene soul. Total bliss!
