Now that you have familiarized yourself with both hatha and vinyasa yoga, you are ready for a more powerful yoga sequence, stronger challenges, and intrinsic points of awareness throughout the physical, mental and energetic body. This intermediate yoga class turns up the intensity of our asana and pranayama. You will be to more advanced yoga poses and the more subtle, yet potent power of sensing your life force energy in each pose.
You will be encourage to go to new edges in your yoga, mentally, physically, and energetically. New bandhas (binds) are introduced, as are deeper inversions, stronger balance poses, more mudras and pranic building techniques. Powerful intermediate yoga flows deepen core and build arm strength as shoulderstand variations are introduced in preparation for headstand. Back-bending sequences also advance and include less preparation before entering the poses.
Longer holds with awareness on the chakras are a trademark of our intermediate yoga class. Increase your inner intensity as yogis and yoginis extend their time in poses and allow their bodies to relish in the sensations of each experience in our practice. Our pranayama techniques progress, tapping into subtle energy of the body raising prana, and our sense of unity with all of life.
As always, we set our sankalpa to invoke uplifting thought, because nothing changes if we do not shift the mind first. We then move through the asanas like a dance, embracing our power and grace. The fluid, rhythmic movements take us out of our minds, into our bodies and breath, into our own unique aliveness.
Your creative nature will be set free as you move like liquid through the vinyasa. Each choreographed movement is embodied through consciously connecting to the breath, supercharging the body, absorbing the enlivened power in this journey of yoga.
After we ring out all the tension in our muscles, detoxify our mind, and discover new flexibility, we unwind with a deep delicious Yoga Nidra or Yogic Sleep, into sublime existence. Here, we find sweet surrender in a mindfulness practice, melting into a tranquil, spacious meditation. We soak up the benefits of our energizing intermediate yoga practice, making time to rest and drink in the energizing flow. We conclude with a short chant and a potent moment of silence. Om. You will leave feeling empowered to continue your day in a positive mindset, with an awakened body, and a serene soul. Total bliss!
